Romeo Wilfred Enan has been named the Most Valuable Player of the DSTV Premier Basketball League All Star Game as the Savannah Conference beat Atlantic Conference 81-77 in Nigeria.
The game which was played at the Abuja National Stadium over the weekend had the Savannah Conference Team lead in the first and second quarters respectively before Romeo’s outstanding play sparked Atlantic into life.
The lanky Ghanaian Center played a key role in giving Atlantic a 23-12 third quarter win which gave them a 77-76 lead with 23 seconds to play in the game. However, Atlantic’s lead was erased as Abubakar Usman scored five straight points to restore Savannah’s lead.
The 6 foot 4 inch Guard scored three consecutive free throws and added another from the field to seize Atlantic’s momentum. Those points were crucial in deciding the Savannah Conference win the title. However, the All-Star Game for the Zenith Bank National Women League took place in Lagos two days prior to the male version.
Enan who plies his trade for Kwara Falcons was selected for the annual event following his nomination by coaches in the league.
