Global Sports Projects, managers of the GSP Basketball League in Sunyani, has officially unveiled a tour of Brong-Ahafo Region as the league is on an extended break. The tour will serve as a measure to keep players in the league competitive till the league resumes later this year as players from league sides will engage opponents other locations in the region.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com, Public Relations Officer Daniel Addo stated aside keeping players in shape for the league’s resumption, the tour will be an avenue to promote basketball in the region.

“As the league goes for a break and as part of promoting basketball in Ghana and Brong Ahafo Region, GSP is assembling the best and available players in the league to tour the region, play friendly matches, hunt talents and create awareness of the game.”

Locations listed to stage games during the tour include Techiman, Berekum and Bechem. However, only two registered players from each team in the league will be eligible for spots on the tour team. The players will be selected by team coaches and captains.

The second season of the GSP Basketball League tipped off on April 30 with eight teams including defending champions Sun City Braves. Barracks Scorpions beat West Siders 36-29, Desert Rabbits beat LIR Royals 43-27 and Catholic Saints beat Sunyani Polytechnic 34-29.
