Week Five of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division has drawn up a tasty matchup fans have been looking forward to since the league began on May 5.

At the Prisons Court in Ghana’s capital; Accra, two unbeaten sides in Air Force and Braves of Customs will go at each other to extend their respective winning streak in the campaign. Galaxy will take on Navy in another interesting fixture on the day but the game which tips off at 16:00 GMT cannot match the scale of the aforementioned fixture which tips off an hour earlier.

Both teams have mixed balanced team oriented plays with brilliant and outstanding individual displays making the clear favorites for the title. Air Force can count on standout performances from Memena Mumuni and Annabel Dsane to score from beyond the arc, inside the paint and drives. However, the team shows off strong defensive traits with the likes of Susan Mills and Grace Yinamyah.

Braves on the other hand still refuse to go away after multiple league titles to their names. Customs team features young but experienced players in Point Guards Afia Agyeman, Grace Doe and Power Forward Matilda Gordon which it has exploited to outwit opponents.

The combination of Gordon and Gloria Gyampoh gives Braves size and speed to dominate the boards as Doe and Agyeman punish defenders with their passing range and speed. On the other hand veterans Rahinatu Dramani and Anita Bonney provide quality leadership.
