Having added the UPAC (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges) Basketball Championship title to their medal for the first part of the year, UG is one of Ghana’s main medal hopefuls in the Games.

However, the team made the journey without head coach Meme Falconer who was in the United States to attend the NBA Draft. He is set to join the team in South Africa before the basketball competition begins.
The competition will be held between June 26 and July 2 at the University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology.
