Ahead of the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards, organizers Rite Sports Limited has successfully launched Ghana’s first ever basketball app. The app “Ghana Basketball” has been fitted with unique built in features which give consumers timely updates on the latest happenings in basketball.

The innovative venture will provide news, photos and videos on news covering the sport in Ghana and foreign leagues including the NBA and Euro League. Visitors to the app can also cast for votes for nominees in the upcoming annual Awards.

Rite Sports Chief Executive Officer, Yaw Sakyi Afari expressed his delight with the introduction of the app which he believes will aid in the development of basketball in the West African nation.

The third edition of the awards will take place on August 12 at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Ghana’s capital; Accra.

Among the celebrated nominees include 2015 Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Year, Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan who is in the running for a second consecutive scoop of the top prize.

He is in the prestigious category alongside Braves of Customs teammates Hashim Brimah and Suleman Abubakar and University of Ghana Power Forward Maxwell Mod.
