Head of University of Ghana’s Sports Directorate Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu has commended Rite Sports Limited in light of the organization’s latest initiative; the High School and College Draft which takes place between August 15 and 19 at the El-Wak Staium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

According to the veteran educationist, the initiative is a wonderful opportunity for his outfit to select talented athletes for its basketball teams. He also heaped praise on Rite Sports Chief Executive Officer Yaw Sakyi Afari stating;

“Is for me a very laudable idea in the right direction…Rite Sports once again has done it, Yaw Sakyi congratulations. This strategy is going to unearth talents and will give them (athletes) the opportunity to go develop their academic and sporting careers”.

The maiden edition of the Draft which gives talented athletes the chance to gain scholarships into Senior High Schools and Colleges in Ghana after working out for tertiary representatives.

After an extremely successful year that has seen its Male Basketball Team win three major trophies including the All Africa University Games, University of Ghana is expected to be active in the draft following the departure of several key players.

Power Forward Maxwell Mod has since been nominated in two categories in the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards due to be held on August 12 at the Best Western Premier Hotel.
