Having registered an important win in the Accra Basketball League, Holy Family is in a desperate race to stave off relegation from the Men’s Division I. The side won its maiden game of the season by beating Air Force 56-53 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu over the weekend.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com after the win, Captain James Pappoe was excited his side managed to end a five game losing streak in the process but hoped the win would propel his side to play better and avoid the drop.

After enduring frustrating times in previous games as the side failed to translate splendid individual talent into wins, Holy Family finally got the pieces together in what turned out to be an exciting game against fellow strugglers Air Force.

A second quarter rally from a 23-32 deficit was key to the win as the likes of Eric Afful, Franklin Arhin, Raphael Buchag and Adams Zocli provided the spark for wonderful comeback win. Pappoe converted baskets to seal the win.
