Following a dramatic run that has seen the team record three wins in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division II, Tema Youth has surged up the standings.
The team ranks second behind leaders Adenta Leopards with 12 points and are in a good place to book a spot in the upper tier.
After concluding the first round of the season with just a win from four games, Coach Leron and his charges have turned around their season around in the second round by earning wins over Galaxy, CYO (58-56) and the most impressive of the bunch, a 63-61 win over Junior Reformers of Prisons despite finishing the game with just three players due to foul trouble.
However, the team’s chances of finishing the season in second place largely hinge on Reformers final game of the season against Galaxy as a big win for the latter will see them supplant Tema in the standings.
Reformers trail Tema by two points and are yet to play in the final round and have recorded only three goals fewer than Tema.
