Air Force and Galaxy will play out the sole fixture of the latest round of the Accra Basketball League at the Prisons Court in Cantonments later today in the Accra Basketball League Women’s Division. The matchup means the anticipated matchup between bottom dwellers Fire Service and Navy will be played later.
Between the two sides, Air Force will be under more pressure to win the game as a win gives the side maximum points and maintains the side’s second place position in the standings. However, Air Force ladies side has proved through the season it can cope with pressure and churn out wins.
On the other hand, Galaxy will be keen on winning the game to topple Reformers of Prisons in third place as the side lies one place and a point behind Reformers in the standings.
The game presents the best chance for 2016 Ghana Basketball Wards Most Valuable Female Player of the Year nominee Selina Quaye to woo voters and get the award. The Awards take place at the Best Western Premier Hotel on Friday August 12 in Accra.
Quaye has been inconsistent in recent games where she has failed to take over games and force wins for her side.
