Marshalls University College and Pope John High School Coach James Okine has expressed strong belief blending education and sports is a good way to help the youth in Ghana. He made the statement when Basketballghana.com caught up with him at the University of Ghana where Ghana’s first ever High School and College Draft is still underway.

Addressing the issue of education and sports which the Rite Sports Limited program aims to give talented basketball players in the West African country, the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards nominee stressed the need for young individuals to access both.

“From what I am seeing now it’s a very good thing the organizers (Rite Sports Limited) are doing to help the young ones in the country because getting education through sports is one of the powerful things you can do to help the youth” he said.
