Highly rated television basketball show “Fast Break” has made history by becoming the first ever basketball show to be nominated for an award in Ghana. The show got nominated as the TV Sports Program of the Year at the Radio and Television Awards due to take place on October 22.

The show is in line for the top award at the sixth edition of the prestigious event following a run of outstanding discussions on basketball issues in Ghana and other countries between 13:00 and 14:00 GMT on Sundays.

Fast Break recently celebrated its second anniversary on the screens of Ghanaian channel TV3 and has been graced by celebrated figures in basketball including Toronto Raptors General Manager Masai Ujiri and Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Dikembe Mutombo.

A lot more is in store as Host Yaw Sakyi Afari is in line to be awarded TV Sports Show Host of the Year following his nomination in the individual category. The former radio presenter has made a successful transition from the entertainment genre to sports as he continues to promote basketball in the football dominated country.
