Braves of Customs has extended its winning streak in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I to eight games following a 67-49 win over Fire Service in an outstanding game played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra.

The game which took place as Ghana celebrated Founder’s Day was fiercely contested as both sides knew a win would improve their seeding for the playoffs with Braves in second place behind Tema Youth and Fire in seventh place.

However, after winning its eight game in eight attempts, Braves have moved to the summit of the division standings usurping Tema Youth in the process. Fire’s record of four wins and three losses got checked even following the loss with the team’s record now at four wins and four losses.

Both sides will be in action on Friday, September 23 at the same venue as the regular season comes to an end. Braves will play home side Tudu Magic and Fire Service will play Reformers of Prisons again after the original game was cancelled due to rains that rendered the court surface very dangerous to play on.

All teams involved in the upcoming games have made it to the playoffs and are in search of playoff seeds.

Reformers and Fire will play their exciting but feisty encounter again on Friday.
