National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings will headline a string of dignitaries set to grace the final day of Peace Hoops 2016 Basketball Tournament which takes place later today at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The aspiring Member of Parliament is expected to be joined by Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong, basketball pundit Yaw Sakyi Afari and several other notable personalities from the political and sports worlds.
As part of her campaign to promote peace awareness in communities ahead of Ghana’s national and parliamentary elections through the ever growing sport-basketball- Dr. Agyemang-Rawlings is majorly responsible for bankrolling the five day event.
The daughter of former Ghana President Jerry John Rawlings has been active in such humanitarian endeavors in the past including her prominent role in catering to victims of the June 3 Floods and Fire disaster that killed hundreds in the nation’s capital, Accra in 2015.
After four days of intense competition and brilliant basketball, home side Galaxy will take on Asylum Down and Ridge in the final game after Teshie Rangers and Junior Reformers from Osu play for bronze. The final is a rematch of the Group A clash between both teams that had Galaxy earn a 47-34 win.
