Ashaiman Lions have taken aim at Nungua Coldstore ahead of the Tema Community Basketball League Playoffs following the former’s 37-47 loss to the latter in the just ended Basketball Battle Tournament which took place at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court.

Lions are set to face Flashlights of Tema New Town with Coldstore set to play against Community 12 in the semi finals of the playoffs at the same venue on Sunday October 9.

Despite the two sides avoiding each other in the final four, Nungua beating Ashaiman to win the playoff curtain raiser has only spiked the dislike both teams have for the other. Lions Forward Ernest Laryea stated his side will be up for the challenge and beat Nungua should they meet in the playoffs.

Both teams were paired in Group B in the regular season and both qualified out of the group with Lions beating Nungua en route to topping the group. Nungua placed second after registering a loss against Ashaiman.

In the latest meeting, which took place at the “Battle”, Lions scoring prowess failed to show as multiple attempts from the floor missed the target. Fans would savor a rematch to witness a repeat of “Basketball Battle” Most Valuable Player Kofi Agyei’s thunderous dunk over Ashaiman’s Philip Amalor.
