Dynamics Coach Feranmi Olulonyo
Ahead of the 2016 Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I final game between Braves of Customs and Tema Youth, coaches of competing teams in the league shared their thoughts on who looked the part of emerging champions.
Two coaches contacted by Basketballghana.com, Wisdom Etsorgali and Feranmi Olulonyo of Teshie Rangers and DC Dynamics respectively, predicted correctly as Braves beat Tema 67-52 in the engaging encounter at the Lebanon House Court.
Etsorgali stated, “It promises to be a cracker, knowing TY (Tema Youth) lost to Braves in the finals last year, they might and will come like a wounded lion. I however believe Braves might take the day but of course they will get a competitive matchup from TY”.
On his part, Olulonyo said, “Got to go with Braves … I wouldn’t be too surprised if they won”.
Rangers fell to Braves in the regular season with Rangers faring worse as the side lost 36-100 in the first matchup before doing same this time around with a 44-61 loss in the post season. Braves went on to win the title on the back off a strong finish which ended all hopes of Tema toppling the defending champions.
Fire Service beat Reformers of Prisons 67-60 to win third place.
