Barracks Scorpions and Suncity Braves have maintained their winning start to the GSP Basketball League after coming out tops in Week Three of the Sunyani-based league which took place at the Sunyani Polytechnic Basketball Court.

Scorpions beat home side Sunyani Poly 38-34 and Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints suffered a 25-41 drubbing at the hands of defending champions Braves in the headline game of the round.

Heading into the fixture, the Saints were heavily tipped to end Braves unbeaten run in the season on the back of two big wins including Week Two’s 32-24 win over championship contender University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

However, Braves hit top gear as they crushed CUCG early and later cruised to victory in the latter quarters of the game. Scorpions on the other hand had to battle against a stubborn Polytechnic side that competed from start to finish in a highly entertaining game.

On the other end of the table, West Siders ended its unbeaten run by beating fellow strugglers LIR 27-17 in a low scoring game after UENR had beaten Desert Rabbits 37-32 in the opening game of the round. Scorpions and Braves remain the only unbeaten sides in the season thus far.
