Only three games were played in the NBA on Monday night but there was no shortage of excitement and great plays, with a great double-double performance by New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis, who led his team past the New York Knicks.

Davis demolishes Knicks

The New Orleans Pelicans beat the Knicks 110-96 in New York on the back of Anthony Davis’ 40-point, 18-rebound double-double. Tyreke Evans had 12 points, two rebounds and four assists, while Buddy Hield and Terrence Jones combined for 22 with 11 points apiece. Malian Rookie Cheick Diallo did not manage to make a basket in his five minutes on the court.

Brandon Jennings led the Knicks with 20 points, five rebounds and four assists, Carmelo Anthony had 18 points and six rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis finished with nine points and four rebounds.

Westbrook is averaging a triple double for the season.

Westbrook leads Thunder to win

The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Chicago Bulls 109-94. Steven Adams had 22 points and five rebounds, Russell Westbrook was a rebound shy of another triple-double with his 21-point, 14-assist double-double, Enes Kanter had a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double, and Nigerian-American Victor Oladipo ended the game with 13 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Bulls were led by Dwyane Wade with 22 points, four rebounds and six assists, Michael Carter-Williams had 15 points, and Christiano Felicio finished with a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Towns’ big night sinks Mavericks

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Dallas Mavericks 101-92. Karl-Anthony Towns had a 34-point, 11-rebound double-double, Ricky Rubio had a 13-point, 15-assist double-double, Andrew Wiggins 13 points and four rebounds, and Senegalese center Gorgui Dieng finished with 12 points and five rebounds.

Harrison Barnes led the Mavs with 30 points, Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points, five rebounds and four assists, Deron Williams had 11 points, two rebounds and seven assists, while Tunisian center Salah Mejri ended the game with two points and three rebounds.
