Former Sprite Ball winner Ajata Iddrisu has told BASKETBALLghana.com she has settled in well in the United States after earning athletic scholarship.

Iddrisu, a former Aggrey Memorial star, has gained the athletic scholarship at the Graceland University in Iowa.

The fast-rising Ghanaian has become Ghana’s first ever female athlete to benefit from the scheme.

It’s expected to be a major turning point for the ever-smiling and hugely talented player to enhance his career and life.

And she has told BASKETBALLghana.com she is settling in just fine.

“It’s been pretty exciting so far. I arrived not too long ago but I am glad with what I’m seeing so far,” she said

“Of course I am looking forward to this opportunity. I have been humbled by the opportunity to study and play basketball at the same time.

“I am very grateful to all the people who have helped me get to this stage in my life. I hope to make them proud.”

While at the Aggrey Memorial High School, Ajata won multiple regional championship with the school, crowning it with the ultimate in her senior year by winning the National Championship, girls division.
