Marshalls-TTU in 2016 Quarter Final game.
Marshalls Coach James Okine with picks from last year’s High and College Draft.

Two quarter finalists in last year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship are set to meet in the preliminary round of the this year’s edition.

Marshalls University College and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) have been drawn in Zone A alongside debutant Maritime University College and Ghana Technology University College (GTUC).

Games will be played on February 17 at University of Ghana’s Central Court.

Only winners of the respective zones qualify for the quarter final games in Accra on April 6 and 7 meaning either team can miss out on the ultimate prize in the first round of this year’s competition.

Last year, both teams made it through the first round before exiting in the quarters as GIMPA lost out to eventual Champions UG and finalist Accra Technical University.

Marshalls on the other hand, missed out on a semifinal spot on goal difference to Takoradi Technical University and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The remaining debutants (All Nations and KAAF University Colleges and Koforidua Technical University) have been paired in Zone B with Valley View University.
