Valley View lost to Accra Technical University last year.

Valley View University’s Male Basketball Team has been drawn in Zone B of the 2017 UPAC Basketball Championship and is set to compete on February 24.

Conversely, the Championship tips off on February 17 at the University of Ghana with games in Zone A scheduled to begin.

Last year’s quarter finalist is in the same group with teams making their debuts in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges Basketball Championship; Koforidua Technical University (KTU), KAAF University College and All Nations University College are novices in the competition.

Despite the zonal games taking place at KTU, Valley View is widely expected to grab the zone’s sole quarter final spot ahead of the opposing teams considering the side stunned the field in last year’s tournament by making the elite eight in its debut appearance.

It failed to qualify for the semifinals.

However, the loss of Shooting Guard Bright Otu-Masi leaves Valley View without its best player from the returning team.

That loss could possibly open the door for any of the three novice teams to cause a surprise.
