Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)’s Male Basketball Team failed to show hunger according to Coach Reagan Sarpong after the side placed fourth at the 7th Mini GUSA (Ghana University Sports Association) Games Basketball Competition.

The event held in January this year had KNUST place fourth after losing to University of Development Studies (UDS) 46-49 in the third place game at the University of Cape-Coast (UCC) earlier this year.

In an interview with Basketballghana.com, the young tactician said, “I wouldn’t say am disappointed but we were just not as much hungry… we are going back to the drawing board to work much harder and then come back strong to take the UPAC Championship”.

The 2017 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship has KNUST drawn in Zone G with Kumasi Technical University, Ghana Technology University College-Kumasi and Garden City University.

This year’s GUSA Basketball competition was won by reigning UPAC Champions University of Ghana with UCC coming second.

The UPAC is Ghana’s biggest and most prestigious tertiary basketball competition.
