Brew was named MVP in the Zone last year.

Teams in Zone F of this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship are set to get competitive game time ahead of the tournament with reports emerging the GSP League is set to recommence.

University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani Technical University (STU) and Catholic University College, Ghana compete in both tournaments.

The league halted proceedings late last year but reports reaching Basketballghana.com strongly indicate games will be played on March 4 to mark Week 8 of the campaign.

This is good news for teams competing both in the league and the UPAC Championship Zone D as a run of games prior to UPAC match day on March 22 gives the trio enough time to get some games under their belt.

Sunyani Nursing Training College is in Zone D. UENR won the zone in last year’s edition to qualify to the quarterfinals but failed to progress to the semifinals.

However, the side is heavily favored to retain its zonal crown with last year’s Most Valuable Player Robert Brew returning to the roster.

Suncity Braves lead the standings in the eight team GSP League in Sunyani.
