Representatives from Ghana’s Accra Basketball League (ABL) will be in action on Sunday February 26 at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court as Ghana Navy and Tudu Magic hit the court.
Both teams are part of strong contingent from the West African nation’s most prominent league participating in Tema Community Basketball League’s curtain raiser; the Campaign Tournament.
DC Dynamics, Teshie Rangers, Ghana Police and Adenta Leopards are the remaining ABL members competing in Tema.
Navy and Magic are set to play AK Rifles and Community 5 in Group C of the tournament for spots in the quarterfinals; the top two teams in each group qualifies to the next round which takes place on March 12.
The ABL Men’s Division I is scheduled to tipoff on March 10 and teams have been preparing for the upcoming season by rounding up their respective rosters. Registration of new players for the 2017 season ends later today at 17:00GMT.
Tema’s Community League is tentatively scheduled to commence in late March and the ongoing preseason tourney aims to get teams in the best shape for what is expected to be a long season.
Nungua Coldstore are defending champions and have qualified to the quarters in the Campaign Tournament alongside Community 2, Tema Heat and Ashaiman Lions.
