UPSA (in white) won the tie.

Marshalls University College has won its second game of the ongoing Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship taking place at the University of Ghana (UG).

Last year’s quarter finalist beat Regional Maritime University 52-23 after clinching a 36-18 win over GIMPA in the opening game.

The side has been easily the more dominant team in Zone A considering close challenger Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) is yet to play its second game in the tournament; GTUC plays Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Regional Maritime never stood a chance against the experienced side with the debutant side showing naivety on several plays. Marshalls punctuated the win with a series of powerful dunks and fastbreak layups.

In Zone D, University of Professional Studies recorded its maiden win of the competition with a 33:31 win over Blue Crest University College. The close shave victory gives a UPSA side yet to impress without veteran Shooting Guard Emmanuel Borsah whose presence calmed the side during barren stretches.

The win also gives UPSA a shot at qualifying to the quarter finals. Only the zone winner qualifies to the next stage.
