The 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season tips off later today the CCYC Court at Kawukudi in Accra between DC Dynamics and Tudu Magic.
The season opener starts at 16:00 GMT and given the Women’s Division began on Thursday with a minute silence in honor of departed league administrator Benjamin Baafi, the men will follow suit.
Magic will not have the backing of its vociferous home crowd at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu which was the original venue for the game before a late change by league officials resulted in the venue switch.
The second game of the round between Ghana Navy and Adenta Leopards has subsequently been postponed due to the changes.
The game was scheduled to be played today but has since been moved to March 15.
Debutant Adenta Leopards will have to wait a while before starting life in the elite division after dominating the lower tier to win the Division II title last year.
Seven Teams have been registered for this year’s campaign and Braves of Customs are the defending champions.
