Boye misses out on the big game.
Nungua Coldstore qualified as Group A winners.

Defending Tema Community Basketball League Champions Nungua Coldstore heads into the League’s preseason tournament quarter finals without Center Joseph Boye who has been ruled out due to injury.

The standout frontcourt player confirmed the news to Basketballghana.com but stated he will be courtside to cheer his new teammates on against his former side Tema Heat.

Boye was recruited ahead of the curtain raiser event after impressing in last year’s campaign with the Heat formerly known as Flashlights.

He was named Most Valuable Player after leading Nungua to win Group A in the preliminary round.
Coldstore can call on the likes of Kwame Boamah Djan and Kofi Agyei to man the paint in his absence.

However, Tema Heat Center Gershon Dzorvor has fully recovered from a head injury that forced him to sit on the sidelines for 14 days but has recovered in time for the big showdown.

In other quarter final games, Ashaiman Lions take on Community 2 while D Dynamics play Tudu Magic and Adenta Lepards play Ghana Navy.

All games including semifinals and finals will be played at the same venue today with tipoff time scheduled at 12:00 PM GMT.
