In line with Ghanaian custom and tradition, a special observation for departed Accra Basketball League Administrator Benjamin Baafi a week after his death has been held at his residence in Gbawe a suburb of Accra.

The sad occasion drew multitude of basketball stakeholders to the deceased’s residence to commiserate with relatives and loved ones.

Several head figures in Ghana’s basketball fraternity were at the event including Braves of Customs Coach Lawal Brimah, Tudu Magic Team Manager Anthony Ajorh and Kofi Amanyo.

The 54 year old also served as Director of Sports for Ghana Revenue Authority and was responsible for overseeing the unit’s all conquering basketball teams that have dominated the West African nation’s landscape.

The Accra League, which tipped off on March 9 with games in the Women’s Division, will have fixtures honored with special reverence to the departed stalwart.

The Men’s Division I tipped off with DC Dynamics taking on Tudu Magic at the CCYC Court at Kawukudi which Magic won 59-46 to start the new campaign on a winning note.
