UCC (red) have qualified to the quarter finals.

The 2017 UPAC Basketball Championship quarterfinals is set to get underway following the completion of preliminary games in Zone F and Zone G at the Kumasi Technical University in the competition.

The eight teams will be paired in a special draw that is set to take place during the live transmission of highly rated basketball television show “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports on Sunday April 2.

The show airs between 14:00 GMT and 16:00 GMT.

The teams will be split into two groups with four going to each group and the top two in each group qualifies to the semifinals.

Reigning champions University of Ghana has made the quarters with Marshalls University College, University of Cape-Coast (UCC), All Nations University College, Accra Technical University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

University of Development Studies (UDS-Tamale) is part of the quarterfinalists after getting an invitation to compete.

With the exception of All Nations, UDS and UCC, the remaining teams were in last year’s quarterfinals.
