Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints have stunned Global Sporting Projects (GSP) Basketball League leaders Suncity Braves courtesy a 27-26 win at the Eusbett Hotel in Sunyani in the last round of games honored.

The tertiary side put the disappointment of missing out on the UPAC Basketball Championship quarterfinals behind to get the better off the defending champions.

The loss is the second of the season for Braves who lost earlier in the second half of this season. An 11-4 lead in the third quarter proved pivotal in turning the tie following a 16-13 Braves first half lead.

In other games, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) continues its climb up the standings following a 17-9 win over Desert Rabbits.

UENR will be in Ghana’s capital, Accra to compete in the UPAC quarterfinals on April 7 against Accra Technical University, All Nations University College and UDS-Tamale.

LIR Royals beat West Siders 26-13 and the tie between Sunyani Technical University (STU) and Barracks Scorpions was forfeited; Sunyani earned 20-0 walkover win and maximum points.
