UENR beat Catholic University (blue) to qualify.
Accra Technical University (ATU) has been drawn in Group B of the upcoming UPAC Basketball Championship quarterfinals. The knockout phase of the Championship is set to take place at the University of Ghana (UG) on April 7 and 8.

Defending champions and host team UG has been drawn in Group A alongside Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape-Coast (UCC) and Marshalls University College.

The group has since been tagged the “Group of Death”.

On the other hand, last year’s losing finalist ATU’s group features what many have deemed a weak group featuring University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), All Nations University College and University of Development Studies (UDS-Tamale).

All Nations and UDS are making their respective debuts at this stage in the competition while UENR is making a second ever appearance. ATU is fancied to qualify due to its deep and experienced side including reigning Ghana Basketball Awards overall MVP winner Suleman Abubakar.

All teams in Group A have played in the quarterfinals before and all four teams have placedin the top four spots in the Championship.
