Wisconsin and Marshalls warming up.
Marshalls University College Male Basketball Team is taking on the first of two important competitions of the calendar this week.

The team is competing in the PUSAG basketball event at the Cape-Coast Sports Stadium and is set to return to Accra on Thursday April 6 in time for the UPAC (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges) Basketball Championship quarterfinals which takes place on April 7 at the University of Ghana (UG).

However, Marshalls has made a great start to its PUSAG title defense by beating Garden City University College and Central University in the opening round of games.

Marshalls beat Garden City 31-11 before getting the better of fellow Accra side Central with a 16-9 win to top Group A.

In other results recorded on Day One of the competition, Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) beat Catholic University 30-19 in Group D while Pentecost University lost 14-31 to Islamic University in Group C .

Back in Group A, Central humiliated Garden City 31-4 before losing 18-11 to Wisconsin International University College.
