Hoops Care International has honored an invitation to compete in an international juvenile basketball tournament scheduled to take place in Nigeria.

The Non-Governmental Organization is sending a 14 team delegation headlined by Founder and Coach Claudius Thompson and Alfred Davies to Nigeria via bus.

The team left Ghana with a coed team featuring boys and girls under 12 to compete against nine other teams from the host country.

Basketballghana.com gathers, the team has been able to raise 8,000 Ghana Cedis it needed to embark on the trip.

In just over a fortnight ago, some members of the team made an appeal on basketball television show “Courtside” to benevolent individuals and corporate organizations to assist them to raise a 6,000 Ghana Cedis shortfall in the budget.

Hoops Care has produced several high profile players including Graceland University’s Ajaata Idrissu. Courtside airs on Sundays on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports between 14:00-16:00 GMT.
