ATU in action against UENR (white) in the third place game.

Enan in action.
Accra Technical University (ATU) former Center Romeo Wilfred Enan has expressed his struggles to cope with his former team’s downward trek in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

He made the statement when Basketballghana.com contacted him in light of ATU’s third place win at the 2017 edition of the prestigious tertiary basketball tournament.

“It s really not easy to see my former team getting a bronze medal in the tournament that we won twice in the row but it s basketball. I hope ATU will come back to their standard and reclaim the Championship next year” he said.

With Enan manning the paint, ATU own two straight UPAC titles in 2011 and 2015 before being named 2015 Tertiary Player of the Year at the Ghana Basketball Awards. He has since been playing in Nigeria’s Premier Basketball League for Kwara Falcons and Kano Pillars.

ATU lost its grip on the UPAC Championship after falling 44-45 to University of Ghana (UG) in last year’s final.

This year, the side failed to get past Marshalls University College in the semifinal falling 39-41 in the process.
ATU clinched the bronze medal courtesy a 42-20 win over University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
