Leopards (yellow) outscored Fire from away from the basket.

Adenta Leopards and Braves of Customs have claimed wins in midweek games of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I played at the Lebanon House Court. Leopards topped Fire Service 67-64 in the opening game before Braves wiped out DC Dynamics courtesy an 80-39 win.

Leopards win comes at a crucial time for the team to end a three game losing run that dimmed the bright start in the opening rounds of the season. Adenta trailed 29-32 at the end of the first half but quickly turned the score and result around with an improved second half display.

After Muhaimin Guba run the floor and converted a layup, Leopards went on a 10-2 run before Fire Shooting Guard Daniel Amartey scored a three point shot to snap Adenta’s lead to four (43-39) with three minutes left to play in the third quarter.

Leopards fleet of shooters including Emmanuel Wolff profited from pin point passes from the impressive Guba to peel away from Fire.

However, two shots from the arc from Benjamin Sowah and Amartey got Fire trailing by just a point with seven seconds left to play. Leopards converted from the free throw line to clinch victory.

There was little end to end action in the game between defending Champions Braves and Dynamics as the former run riot over the latter in another dominant display for Customs.

DC trailed by nine (9-18) at the end of the first quarter with David Maja impressing again for the men in orange.

However, Braves’ army of game changers including Baniba Dodzie and Daniel Aryee steered the side clear off Dynamics.
Veteran Guard/Forward Richard Borsah got in on the fun by draining a rare three point shot to give Braves a 62-26 lead at the end of the third quarter before sealing the win.
