With the conclusion of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I first half, Basketballghana.com takes a closer look at the division prior to May 17 when the league recommences.

Despite the increase in competition this season, little has changed regarding which teams dominate the league. Unsurprisingly, heavyweight Braves of Customs leads the division in many areas.

For starters, defending champion Braves lead the way in the standings with 11 points; a superior goal difference puts the side ahead of Tema in the standings.

Braves ended the first half of the campaign as the best offensive team pouring in 462 points in six games. The highlight offensive performance was the 100-46 clobbering of Adenta Leopards.

Debutant Adenta Leopards finished the first half of its debut season in the elite division in fifth place scoring the least number of points (264).

However, the team flexes its muscles on the other end of the court with the stingiest defense in the league. The side conceded 307 points in six games to pace the field.

Ghana Navy ended the first round of the season without a win in six games.
