Dynamics (orange) in action against Tema
Braves (white) in action against Navy.

The second round of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I has opened with two games completed at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

The round of games had defending champions Braves of Customs run over Ghana Navy with a 75-39 win and rival Tema Youth do same with a 77-44 win over DC Dynamics in the final game of the round.

Aside a few changes, particularly on Dynamics roster who had the likes of Nana Bissue Yankah return from injury, the striking difference on the court were the shot clocks.

The 24 second shot clocks will be used for the remainder of the season and postseason as officials look to encourage more attacks at the rim and grow the league’s quality.

Playing for the first time with the clock, some players got caught out by the clock on a couple of occasions.

Following the opening round, Navy is still winless this season and comes against division leaders Tema Youth on Wednesday May 24 at the same venue.
