2016 Tema Community Basketball League finalists Nungua Coldstore and Ashaiman Lions have recorded big wins in the latest round of games played in the 2017 season at the Tema Community 4 Court.

Defending Champions Coldstore got past Tema Community 12 with a 47-24 win in the opening game in Group A with usual suspects Enoch Borsah and Jonathan Walker scorching C 12 from distance en route to the big win.

Last year’s beaten finalist Ashaiman Lions fought hard midway through the second game of the round before putting away Teshie Rangers.

Lions beat Rangers 54-38 with Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw scoring four three point shots to give Ashaiman a 29-16 first half lead.

However, Rangers Guard Gabriel Numarworse converted two straight shots from the arc to reduce the deficit to 10 (25-35) with 2:25 left to play in the third quarter.

Lions Forward Ernest Otu Laryea came off the bench to score four straight points and get his side back on the board.

With the tie pretty much set, John Teye Okumoh finished off the game with an uncontested two hand slam.

Both sides and Ghana Police are yet to taste defeat this season.
