Games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II will resume following a break in the campaign late in August.

The break was to allow players, coaches and officials move to Cape-Coast to participate in this year’s Basketball Festival; the event is held annually in Ghana.

The resumption gets underway at 17:00 GMT with a game between Panthers and Akatsi Rifles before Novas Academy plays Ghana Police in the follow up game.

Rifles have lost two straight games in as many matches since the league’s commencement while Panthers has lost and lost another in a two game spell.

Akatsi recorded both losses against Reformers of Prisons teams featuring in this year’s campaign; Rifles lost 53-93 to Junior Reformers and succumbed to the senior side little over a week later.

Police holds an advantage over Novas since the experienced side has won both games in the division and finished second in the basketball festival. The team piped rival Navy Warriors 60-59 in its opening tie.

Novas hasn’t fared badly winning its only tie in the opening round against DC Aspirants.
