Novas (red) recorded its first loss of the season.
Ghana Police has beaten Novas Academy 62-38 in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II as the side prepares for a tough encounter against Nungua Coldstore.

After placing second in this year’s Basketball Festival in Cape-Coast, Police returned to the court at the Lebanon House in Tudu to beat the young side after struggling in the first half.

The latest result is Police’ third straight win this season after recording similar results against the likes of Navy Warriors in previous encounters.

Police held 9-8 and 21-20 leads in the first and second quarters respectively before exploiting Novas’ inexperienced core to clinch the win.

However,Police’ schedule is not yet complete since the side has to play defending Tema Basketball League Champions Coldstore next.

The tie is scheduled to take place on Sunday September 10 at Tema’s Community 4 Court; the fixture headlines a quartet of games to be played this weekend.

Coldstore is two spots ahead of Police in Tema’s Group A and a win for Police is vital to usurp Nungua’s spot since Police has played fewer games than the champions.
