First round games in the 2017 Tema Basketball League postseason have been postponed due to rains that have battered the league’s venue.

The Tema Community 4 Court is at the mercy of the natural elements due to its open air feature.

With most parts of Ghana’s capital Accra drenched in rain since the start of the weekend, officials decided to call off games to ensure the court is in good shape and players safety is ensured.

Similar to what happens on most courts in the West African country, games are disrupted by rain.

The announcement was made by Leagje Coordinator Sandy Asiedu and League General Secretary Prince Owusu Basketballghana.com can confirm.

Information reaching Ghana’s leading hoops portal indicate games have been postponed to Sunday October 1 at the same venue.

Games between Ashaiman Lions and Ghana Police and Nungua Coldstore and Junior Reformers were scheduled to be honored in Group A.

In Group B, leaders Tema Community 4 is scheduled to play Ghana Navy after an all Tema show down between Tema Heat and Tema Community 2.

Coldstore are the defending champions and topped Group A in the regular season.
