Following Basketballghana.com’s publication fingering complacency as a major reason for title favorites Nungua Coldstore and Ashaiman Lions failure to win the2017 Tema Basketball League, Coldstore Forward Kwame Boamah Djan has stated his agreement.

Asked in a chat with Ghana’s leading hoops portal whether satisfactory results in previous games seeped into the team’s play, he said:

“In other words yes” before adding “we were the talk of the league and everyone wanted to have their run at us. So despite our individual talents and morals, we just had a bad shooting day(s). I mean even 73-9 Warriors lost”.

Djan referred to Coldstore’s flat performance particularly on the boards against Ashaiman Lions where the 2016 Champions got knocked out by the 2016 silver medalist.

Nungua’s shooting went awry against Ashaiman which led to the Defensive Player of the Year’s reference to Golden State Warriors shock loss to Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015-2016 NBA season despite winning 73 of 82 regular season games and leading the finals series 3-1.

Tema Community 4 won the Championship by beating Lions twice in the finals series. Coldstore is likely to feature in next month’s “Campaign Tournament”.
