After capturing another regional Championship title, Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary Basketball Coach James Okine is talking tough.
Pope John beat rival Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) 31-30 in the Eastern Regional Basketball Final.
With the finalists set to represent the region at the National Championship-Sprite Ball Championship-, Coach Okine has stated great things should be expected from his side.
“POJOSS is coming to win the national championship and all the schools should watch out for us. The nation should just expect great basketball from POJOSS under my leadership” he said.
Piping St. Peter’s Senior High School 14-13 in the semifinals, Pope John repeated a similar score line in the final to down KSTS.
Having won bronze in the January 2016 edition, POJOSS missed out on a medal at the last edition held placing fourth in the competition.
The team will be itching for a return to the podium when the competition takes place next year from January 4-6.
Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition, organized by Rite Sports and headlined by Sprite.
