Defending Global Sporting Platforms (GSP) Basketball League Champions University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) remain unbeaten two games into the new season.

The team beat fellow tertiary side Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG Saints) 37-14 to maintain its winning run in the competition.

Former league champions Suncity Braves matched UENR’s record by beat Desert Rabbits 32-27 in the opening game at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani.

The loss is Rabbits second in as many games in the league which puts one of the most popular teams in the division in a tight spot early this season.

Despite the wins, the spotlight belongs to Sunyani Technical University (STU) who stunned Week One’s biggest winner Barracks Scorpions with a 47-25 win.

The last game of the round was more surprising considering STU and West Siders were reinstated in the league despite missing the original dates for registration this season.

Both teams missed the opening round of games played last week at the same venue; West Siders lost 32-61 to LIR in its first outing after getting reinstated.
