Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) has missed out on securing qualification to the Sprite Ball Championship for next year.

The renowned institution which has an extensive history with Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition missed out on securing a spot during regional qualifiers held last weekend.

The school hosted games in the girls division of the Greater Accra Regional qualifiers on Saturday December 9 while ties in the boys division were played at the University Of Professional Studies (UPSA).

PRESEC-Legon failed to secure one of three slots available in the boys division after falling behind Sacred Heart Senior High School, St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School and PRESEC-Osu.

The team lost 30-32 to Aquinas in the opening game before rain interrupted the games forcing officials to complete remaining fixtures on Sunday December 10.

However, PRESEC’s fortunes didn’t change either as St. Thomas Aquinas piped them to the final spot for the national games.

PRESEC-Legon has been an ever present feature in the competition placing second at the 2014 edition behind Keta Senior High School.
