Kano Pillars and Gombe Bulls played out an all Nigerian matchup at the ongoing FIBA Champions Cup in Tunisia after missing out on the quarter finals.

Neither team has any chance of clinching a medal at the competition and clashed today with league champions Kano winning 71-67.

The tie was the first of two classification games played ahead of quarter final games slated to take place later in the day. ASB New Generation lost 62-82 to ASB Mazembe.

The standout performers for Pillars and Bulls in the competition, Abdul Yahaya and Ibe Agu, top scored for their respective side.

Yahaya paced the game with 18 points while Agu registered 12 points, six rebounds and an assist while Yahaya added 11 rebounds, a steal and a block.

Bulls play New Generation on Tuesday December 19 at 9:00 GMT before Pillars take on Democratic Republic of Congo side Mazembe at 11:15 GMT.

The competition tipped off on December 11 and ends on December 20 in Tunisia’s capital, Tunis.
