Recent reports gathered by Basketballghana.com suggested Koforidua Senior Technical School (K.S.T.S.) has sacked Albert Djan from his post as Head Coach of the school’s basketball team.

However, checks reveal the astute young trainer is still at the helm of affairs for the Eastern Region representative at the next Sprite Ball Championship.

Djan stated exclusively in an interview debunking the rumors and was preparing to move over to the school to begin intense preparations with the team on December 27th.

“I have not been sacked. I am still the Coach of KSTS and I will coach the team at next year’s Sprite Ball. It is not true” he said.

Leader of KSTS’ contingent to the Championship Eric Larbi also confirmed the news was false and Coach Djan will be with the team in Accra next year.

KSTS is a former silver medalist and three time bronze medalist at Sprite Ball but has fared not too well in recent times following the departure of legendary players like Emmanuel Wolff and Ekow Amoako.

The team qualified from the region alongside Pope John Senior High School. Next year’s Sprite Ball takes place next year from January 4-6, 2018 at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
