PRESEC-Legon at the last Sprite Ball
Augustine’s won the previous edition in January 2016.
Pope John’s won bronze at the 2016 January edition.

PRESEC-Legon
Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) won a special vote to make the roster for next year’s Sprite Ball Championship.

However, the school’s celebrations was cut short after it got drawn in Group C in what has described as the proverbial “Group of Death”.

PRESEC has been drawn alongside former Sprite Ball winner St. Augustine’s College, 2016 bronze medalist Pope John Senior High and Junior Seminary and Ashanti Region representative T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School.

The draw was conducted in a live broadcast on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports with Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong in attendance.

After missing out on an automatic qualification spot to the national championship, PRESEC beat out the likes of St. Peter’s Senior High School and Accra Academy to clinch the final spot in the boys division.

Since peaking at the competition in 2014 Championship by placing second behind winners Keta Senior High Technical School, PRESEC has failed to repeat such exploits.

Next year’s Championship takes place from January 4-6, 2018 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
