Central Region’s St. Augustine’s with Trophy
Ghana’s premier tertiary institution, University of Ghana (UG), will host participating schools at the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship next year.

The renowned institution has been home to players, staff members and supporters of qualified schools to the games over the years.

Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate UG will act as host when the anticipated high school basketball competition tips off early 2018.

The next edition of Ghana’s high school basketball competition-Sprite Ball- takes place at the El Wak Stadium in Accra from January 4-6, 2018.

16 schools in the boys division and 10 in the girls division are expected to touch base in the West African nation’s capital for the games on Wednesday January 3.

Opoku Ware School are the reigning male division champions with Wesley Girls High School heading to the competition as defending female champs.

Next year’s competition will feature a cheerleading team for the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2007.

However, other notable events like the All Star Game will be featured.
