Mfantsipim School Physical Education Department Head Ebenezer Appiah has heaped high praise on past students of the school who thronged the El Wak Stadium to watch the team play in the Sprite Ball Championship.

He made the statement in an interview on renowned basketball program “Courtside” which airs on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

The long tenured department head was encouraged at the sight of several students show up to support the Mfantsipim’s team at the just ended 2018 Championship.

Former players including Julian Morgan, Jeffrey Abakisi, Mishael Salifu, David Akuffo and George Poku-Pare took turns to help the team out in varied ways.

Appiah also singled out former Team Manager Kofi Adabor Ofori-Amanfo for his outstanding work during his time at the school which had Mfantsipim clinch three straight titles.

Kwabotwe made it to the final game despite a sluggish start in the competition losing 14-45 to eventual champions Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC).

Mfantsipim lost 22-25 in the final game to miss out on a fifth Sprite Ball title; the loss is the school’s third consecutive miss.

Courtside airs on Sunday between 16:00 and 18:00 GMT.
