Shooting Guard Emmanuel Wolff shows off gold medal
University of Ghana Director of Sports Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu has congratulated the institution’s basketball team’s for performing well at this year’s Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.

The 25th edition of the multi sports competition ended this past weekend at the University of Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale.

UG’s Male Basketball Team placed first courtesy a win over University of Cape-Coast (UCC) in the final game with University of Education -Winneba (UEW) placing third.

Ghana’s first university’s female basketball team placed second with the gold medal going to UCC and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) placing third.

Speaking in an interview on popular basketball television show “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports, Dr. Bitugu praised both teams for their tremendous efforts.

He later added measures are being put in place to ensure the University maintains high standards in the coming years. Winning gold at this year’s games is UG’s second straight triumph in the aftermath of clinching gold at the 2016 edition.

Courtside airs on Sunday from 16:00 to 18:00 GMT.
